Harrington Raceway this week became the first racino in Delaware to introduce table games. The facility did so with a 'soft opening' which featured lower bet limits from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. until this Friday
.
Friday will be the scene of a noon grand opening which will kick off the 24-hour nonstop operation that will include blackjack, craps, roulette and a wide variety of exotic forms of poker, including Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, Pai Gow, Let It Ride, Casino War, Three Card, traditional Texas Hold ‘Em and mini baccarat.
Horsemen at Harrington will receive 4.5% of table game revenues.
In another Delaware development, in Georgetown, annexation of a 78-acre casino and entertainment complex, including restoration of the old Georgetown Raceway, shuttered for decades, will be voted on by the town council next month.
The Georgetown plan, which proposes 51% of racino profits to charity, has faced opposition in the state legislature and also is likely to fall under a six-month moratorium in Sussex County, where it is one of three proposals vying for two possible licenses in the state, both of which would compete with existing casinos in little Delaware.
