If a current court proceeding is any indication, if your horse ever gets loose, the last place you would want to find him or her is in a local swimming pool.
According to a report by Courthouse News Service, a Maryland boarding school for girls is being sued by a homeowner after a horse that the school owns recently ended up in the homeowner’s backyard pool.
According to documents filed in court, officials from Oldfields School initially said that they would pay for damages to the pool, but opted not to once they were told that damages were north of $14,000.
Homeowner Barbara Andrews has now filed a lawsuit against Oldfields School over the matter. She is seeking the roughly $14,000 for the damage to her pool and an additional $75,000 for a list of subsequent issues, which include trespass, negligence and strict liability.
