Fresh from a stint at the Meadowlands that sharpened him, Terror High overpowered the field in Tuesday’s Schoolkids Pace at The Meadows, scoring on the front end in a blistering 1:52.3.

The opening leg of the series for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers, named for the fast-class pacer Schoolkids who’s still performing at The Meadows, was conducted over three divisions, with Counterterror (1:53.3 – Dave Palone/Mike Palone) and Tempster Hanover (1:55.4 – Mike Wilder/Dan Altmeyer) taking the other $11,250 splits.

Unraced at two, Terror High finished third in the Junior Trendsetter final and followed that by taking a NW2 event. In the Schoolkids, he grabbed the early lead for Brett Miller and went on to an unchallenged victory over pocket-sitting Dew N Doughnuts. Beamer Blue Chip was well back in third.

Del S. Miller trains Terror High, a Western Terror-Summer Artist gelding, for Chris Ryder, Max Wernick, Tamra Wernick and Robert Mondillo.

In the $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot, Big And Little pulled off a first-over, 12-1 shocker in a career-best 1:53.2 for Brian Zendt, trainer Bill Zendt and owner Gary Saul. Y Dat was second, 3-1/2 lengths back, with SJs Super Star third. A five-year-old SJs Caviar-Penn Peachi Lane gelding, Big And Little now boasts $186,820 in lifetime earnings.

Dave Palone shrugged off the injuries suffered in a spill Monday and completed all 12 of his assignments, notching three wins.
