All the assets of Quebec racetrack operator Attractions Hippiques are up for grabs through July 7, but only if the price is right

.

Otherwise, owner Paul Massicotte intends to adjust his business plan and carry on, trustee Yves Vincent said today in Montreal Superior Court, where Attractions Hippiques is seeking another four-month extension of creditor protection first granted last June.

"If people are looking for a steal," Vincent said, "it won't happen."

Attractions Hippiques' assets which are able to be sold include Hippodrome Trois-Rivières and Hippodrome Aylmer, the Montreal-based teletheatre network and the long-term lease on Hippodrome de Québec, but not Hippodrome de Montreal or any of the permits attached to it.

Vincent said the Montreal track is destined to close. He acknowledged there could be a problem selling the teletheatres, franchise operations whose simulcast permits are affiliated with the Montreal track, but said talks have been initiated with the Quebec finance department seeking a rule modification that would allow permits to be shifted to another home market.
