Having won five out of her last six races, and two in a row against the best mares on the grounds, Amanda Tobinski’s Miss Walker, a six-year-old Aces N Sevens offspring, out of the In Abercrombie mare In Chris Walker, won in 1:57.3
to register her sixth win of the year, in the $9,000 Filly and Mares Open Handicap Pace at Buffalo Raceway Friday, April 23.
Capably driven by reinsman Jimmy Whisman, Miss Walker ($16.60), dismissed by the bettors at 7-1, left hard from Post 7, and received a perfect two-hole trip behind eventual third place finisher Pembroke Primo (Kevin Cummings), who set all the fractions in the race, :28.3, :58.1, and 1:28.1. A :29.1 last quarter-mile put the winner one-half length ahead of second place finisher All Deuce (Jack Flanigen) at the wire.
“She’s awfully good right now,” said Whisman. “There’s really not much to say other than what a great job Greg has done with her.”
Trained by Greg Luther, the $4,500 share of the winning purse put Miss Walker’s season bankroll at $28,479, and $88,583 lifetime.

A sparkling :28.4 last quarter-mile, put the Giant Hit offspring, who was driven by reinsman Ken Holliday, one-half length ahead of second place finisher Jack Sparrow (Jim McNeight) at the finish line. Carolina Raider (Troy Boring) came in third.
Trained by Sherri Holliday, the $4,500 share of the winning purse put Redneck Reindeer’s season bankroll at $31,305, and $247,389 lifetime.
