This week's Rewind is another version of 'Picture Parade', a lineup of old photos for your viewing and guessing pleasure. Robert Smith has gathered some interesting subjects from the archives. This time around all of the pictures are of drivers in various poses.
Here are this week's pictures; by now everybody probably knows the routine. Feel free to name as many or as few as you like. Have fun.
#1 - Let's start out with a group shot featuring some real good horsemen from yesteryears. Can you name any or all of them?
#2 - This gentleman was well known in the Maritimes and nearby U.S. tracks where he competed for many years. Can you identify him?
#3 - This fellow was a part of our sport for many years and in more than one capacity. Can you name him?
#4 - Looks like this fellow is ready for cold weather. Can you name him?
#5 - This man started out his career in his native Ohio and went on to a long and successful career which led to national recognition. Who is he?
#6 - This fellow has a wad of cash in hand as part of a publicity stunt. Can you figure out who he is?
#7 - Driving horses can be a dangerous job and on occasion those pursuing this career can end up on the injured list. Can you identify this fellow who had to spend some time in hospital as a result of a racing accident way back when? Let us know who you think he is.
#8 - For many years a top horseman, mainly on the U.S. side, this fellow had a long and successful career. Let us know who you think he is.
#9 - Who is this fellow? He was a pretty busy driver at one time. Name him if you can.
#10 - This chap had a varied career; can you identify him?

Seeing Double. The gentleman in the above photo also appears in another one of today's pictures from 1 through 10. This photo was taken very early in his career. Can you figure out who it is and thus which one above matches?

Number 1 is left to right as you look at the picture is Del McTavish, Stanley Dancer, Hugh Bell, Billy Haughton and Jimmy Jordan. Number 3 is Gary Campbell. I will admit I didn’t recognize him. Gary had a good horse in the mid 60’s called Noral Gale. I remember Gary as the tattoo man. Gary always was smoking a pipe. Number 4 is Gilles Gendron. Number 6 is Russ Caldwell and the horse he is talking to is Bankroll, a F.F.A. Pacer he had Montreal in the late fifties. Number 7 is Marcel Dostie. Number 8 is Eddie Wheeler, holding on to probably Big John a F.F.A. Trotter he used to drive. Number 9 is Mel Corbett the best come from behind driver ever.

10. Retired NHL goalie Gilles Villemure, whom Calgarians enjoyed as a guest driver in 1975, the second year of Stampede Park harness racing after the late John Ferguson of Montreal Canadiens was the first celebrant to promote Calgary harness racing at the brand new track in 1974.
