It has been reported that a water park and a multitude of other amenities could be incorporated into a proposed multi-million-dollar expansion at Pocono Downs.

According to an article by citizensvoice.com, Pocono’s Mike Bean recently stated that plans for a water park and retail expansion are “on the drawing board.”

The report states that the expansion may also include baseball and softball fields, as well as the introduction of a dome which would house basketball courts. Other proposed aspects of the expansion include locker room facilities, party rooms, business meeting rooms, an artificial ski mountain and a climbing wall, among other amenities.

The article explains that the project is expected to break ground in 2015 and that much of the expansion would be located on 127 acres of land which is located behind the racino.

Bean was quoted as saying, "We believe there is the potential for an all-season family entertainment destination," adding that the expansion could possibly serve “just about every sport.”

The report has cited Bean as saying that the expansion would be in the $15-million range.
