" I couldn't be more happy with the way he looks. He's made that physical change they need to, because I always say a two-year-old that doesn't change at three...I haven't seen many of them that can step it up."
At 14-1, Go Daddy Go comes in at #5 in Trot Magazine's 2015 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book. The O'Brien Award finalist made a seamless transition from competing in the Ontario Sires Stakes to Grand Circuit racing, with wins in both his elimination of the Metro and the Breeders Crown, plus a runner-up finish to Artspeak in the Governor's Cup. Bob McIntosh provided Trot Insider with an update on the son of Ponder.
Where did he winter?
"After the Breeders Crown I sent him to Peninsula Farms and Carter Duer."
How long was he turned out?
"We brought him in the first week of January."
Where are you at with him right now?
"I've been in 2:05 with him [as of April 7] in the jog cart."
Have you noticed any changes from last year to this year?
"All the changes you want to see, in my book. He really grew. I bet you if you measured him at last year this time up to now he grew about seven inches taller, and he actually got longer too, which I haven't seen happen too often.
"He's feeling more like a man this year, he's more of a handful. But that's OK, that's the way I want him. He's a handful but he's a happy horse."
When will he qualify?
Early to mid-May.
What's his early schedule looking like leading up to the Pepsi NA Cup?
"We'll probably go to that first Sires Stake in London on May 29...that's if everything goes right, he'll tell me if he's ready or not." He's also eligible to the Somebeachsomewhere.
What is he staked to past the NA Cup?
"He's eligible to everything, I just got done staking him. He's got a busy schedule."
