What do Barn Girl, Dapper Dude and Tamarind all have in common? If you said that they are all trained by William Bercury you would be correct. You would also be correct if you said that the trio of horses is the subject of a recent profile piece by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
Writer Linda Wilson Fuoco recently took some time to sit down with Bercury and driver Aaron Merriman, who know the trio as well as anyone.
Fuoco didn’t get down to the nitty gritty with her questions about the trio, but focused more on general questions that an outside may have about the relationship between a horseperson and their steed.
“They really, truly, love to race,” said Bercury.
