Fellows Breaks Training Maiden

On Sunday, March 3 at Flamboro Downs, just two days removed from his 25th birthday, Kyle Fellows, the son of trainer Rob Fellows, broke his conditioning maiden.

The win came courtesy of four-year-old Armbro Deuce gelding Deuce Man, who Kyle also owns along with pilot Anthony MacDonald.

The latter lined up with Deuce Man in Post 5 for Race 12. The duo secured a prime spot heading into the opening quarter (:27.2), as MacDonald settled his bay mount into the pocket as a pair of charges tussled for the front end.

MacDonald and Deuce Man took in the action from the garden spot through middle fractions of :58 and 1:28.1.

When called on by MacDonald, Deuce Man fired home a half-length winner in 1:59.1

Deuce Man is just the second horse Fellows has raced since sending his first pari-mutuel starter forward in late January of this year. He had finished out of the money in three starts with Professordapapers at Woodbine Racetrack.

Deuce Man's victory on Sunday came in his first start after a February 21 qualifier.

Also on the card, Canada's leading reinsman, Jody Jamieson, won five races.
