Top executives with Churchill Downs have reportedly said that 'instant racing' gaming will 'probably' be installed if it is upheld that they are legal in the state of Kentucky
.
“Assuming that the economics are as we expect them to be, we’d probably do something. We’d put some machines somewhere,” Churchill Downs CEO Bob Evans was quoted as saying yesterday during a discussion with The Courier-Journal.
In the interview, Churchill Downs President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Carstanjen was quoted as saying, “We’ll have to be vigilant about the curve balls … any changes could seriously impact our plans. This isn’t a home-run situation. This is a ‘maybe we can beat out an infield single,’ so we have to be really, really careful on what the terms are.”
