It was reported last week that House members in West Virginia approved millions in across-the-board cuts which will see funding to the horse racing industry, among other sectors, reduced.
An article which appears on dailyjournal.net explains that parts of a $19-million shortfall will come from 10 per cent cuts in funding to dog and horse tracks, in addition to casinos, tourism and cultural facilities, as well.
The move was approved after a 72-25 vote and has moved onto the Senate.
