OLG To Open Up Books?

It has been reported that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. may soon be letting the Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium take a look at its books

.

The news comes courtesy of an article by Newstalk 610 CKTB which explains that the consortium wants to see the books to gauge whether or not it can operate the slots parlour at the Fort Erie Race Track as well as the on-track product.

The report states that without having seen the OLG financials, consortium CEO Jim Thibert is convinced they can run both the slots and track and turn a profit, plus pay the province $1-million per year as a site-licensing fee.

Can't believe the OLG would ever open their books--it should be public information to see exactly what comes in, what expenses are & where all of the money goes (by the same token--pardon the pun--has any government ever opened their books to what a lottery takes in, what the expenses are, where the money goes & what is returned in prizes?--of course not!!!)--it should all be public information (but, then waste, excessive salaries, etc. would be exposed)

The retailers all get a percent of total sales and a percent of redemptions ! For the owner of the Macs milk stores ( ALENIATION Couche TARD ) the OLG would pay them eight percent for all sales in Ontario and also pay four percent on all lottery tickets that the stores redeem in cash to the customer ? It is now a visual response which the customer sees as a winner or loser but there is also still room for other OPERATORS who do not swipe the scratch tickets to muddy the results of sales...caveat emptor....
