Scott Coulter, one of Ontario's top drivers since the turn of the century, reached a career milestone with multiple wins over the weekend.

Coulter earned his 6,000th career win when he drove trainer Francis Guillemette's trotter Run Like Hill ($6.70) to victory in a two-minute mile on Saturday, Mach 22 at Flamboro Downs.

In the evening's $8,500 fifth race for conditioned/optional claiming trotters, Coulter tracked cover from midfield after the first lap and sent Run Like Hill three-wide down the backstretch to overhaul race leader Esquire (Sam Fillion) once they turned for home. The eight-year-old Muscle Hill-Smarty Pants gelding prevailed by 1-1/2 lengths, with Jokic (Mark Etsell) and Cellular (Daryl Thiessen) closing late for second and third, respectively.

The milestone victory was one of Coulter's four winning drives on the nine-race card, which brought his career win total to 6,002.

A mainstay on the Ontario circuit since winning his first race in 1995 at Flamboro, the 54-year-old Brantford, Ont. reinsman has ranked among the top 10 drivers in the country on numerous occasions, including posting a single-season career high of 467 wins in 2011 to climb to second-place on the national leaderboard.

Coulter has driven in more than 43,000 races lifetime and just last June celebrated another milestone when he went over the $40 million mark in career earnings.
