Yesterday Trot Insider shined the spotlight on Michigan-based trainer Kathleen Cary-Black, who was kicked in the chest while racing Terrifically Easy on March 9 at Windsor Raceway. The mare was back in to go last night at the border oval.
Looking to notch her first win of the 2010 racing season, the five-year-old daughter of Cam Terrific was dropping in class in Race 2 and started from Post 3.
With Brad Kramer in the race bike, Terrifically Easy left off the gate and settled down on the pylons. The mare went on to cut the fractions in :27.3, :58.1 and 1:27.1 before coming home with a :29.1 final panel.
Stopping the clock in 1:56.2, Terrifically Easy held on for a three-quarters of one length victory and returned $5.80 on a Win wager. She topped a $14.10 exactor with Funny Lady (driven by Larry Walleyn) and a $51.30 triactor with Odds On Diana ($51.30).
Earlier in the day, Cary-Black had told Trot Insider of the incident in which she was kicked in the Windsor paddock.
