An unusual wagering occurrence during this past Friday night’s third race from Woodbine Racetrack resulted in a number of winning tickets being refunded
.
It was discovered that money wagered from Western Fair had not made it into the Woodbine pools in time for the third race, which resulted in the refund of the money that was wagered. The problem occurred due to a communication failure between the tote company and the host.
In the meantime, Western Fair management wishes to advise its customers who had winning tickets, or those eligible for refunds, that those tickets will be honoured by Western Fair Raceway.
For more information customers can contact the track by email at [email protected] or [email protected], or they can stop by the track in person and speak with the mutuels manager.
CPMA rules state that in instances such as this, for bets that cannot be combined into a host track’s pools before the end of a race, Federal Regulations require that such bets must be refunded. Refunding bets at some sites may affect odds and payouts at other locations.
A number of customers have already come forward. Once again, those who have not as of yet can contact the track immediately to be reimbursed.

A great big tip of the hat
A great big tip of the hat to Western Fair! This type of customer care goes a very long way in showing your current customers that you care! Thank you.
Nice to see WF is looking
Nice to see WF is looking after their customers. No such luck in Sarnia. I bet the same 3rd race, before the 1st race, rushed home to watch in on the net. There was a tote delay from Woodbine, after 10 minutes and no explanation why, the results were posted. Went back the same night to cash my winners from the 3rd race, was given back a total refund of my total wager, again no explanation. Gas is 2 darn expensive to run back and forth to cash another bogus experience. No wonder the punters are leaving!!!!!
If someone gives me $10.00
If someone gives me $10.00 to bet on a horse and for some reason (my fault) I don't place the bet, I become a "bookie". I may take a beating or come out ahead, but the bettor need not be affected by my screw up. I think that Western Fair should do likewise, unless the CPMA feels otherwise. I can't see the winning bettor being short-changed.

its not western fairs fault
its not western fairs fault though that they where not closed that is whoever was suppose to be doing the job at the tote company. so why don't you find out who was working that night and take it out of there pocket and leave western fair alone.
