Thirty-five horses that perished in a barn fire over the weekend were inaccurately reported to be racehorses.
An article by WTVB has clarified that a Saturday, March 8 barn blaze in Branch County’s California Township did not involve racehorses, as had been reported earlier.
The report states that 9-1-1 was called Saturday at roughly 12:30 in the afternoon after a passerby saw smoke. The article states that the barn was declared a total loss.
Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of the horses.
