Trot Insider has learned that multi-millionaire JM Vangogh has recovered from severe pastern fractures and has retired to stud duty
.
The son of Earl-Queen Tut, who took his mark of 1:52.4 at Mohawk Racetrack as an eight-year-old, put together a record of 65-33-22 in 206 starts and earned $2,285,500. He recorded victories in Ontario Sires Stakes Gold finals, the Earl Rowe Memorial, Masters Series, Classic Trot and multiple Open and Preferred events.
"New Bolton was very happy with the pastern that had the fracture," said Colleen Chambers, daughter of co-owner Paul. "Back in November they x-rayed the other front foot and noticed he had a bit of laminitis, so obviously this is a concern. They did some corrective shoeing while he was there."
JM Vangogh was bred to 14 mares last season and now stands in Delaware at Merrie Medo Farm for a fee of $3,000 with discounts for additional bookings.
