The Can-Am All Breeds Equine Expo, Canada's largest equine education and promotional event, welcomes industry veterans Norm Clements and Ed James as supporters of the show.

"It's an honour to get the seal of approval from longtime horsemen like Norm and Ed," said Can-Am President Ross Millar. "I'm pleased that they thought Can-Am was the right way to give back to the industry and help foster a feeling of community in the Ontario horse industry."

"Can-Am is such a fabulous event for the horse industry," said Clements. "It allows horse people to catch up after a long winter, but it also gets new people out to see what's going on. I am happy to support a show that gets everyone – old and new – together to learn, and also to check out all the great stores."

Clements co-owned, with Norm Faulkner, the famed harness racer Cam Fella, who was retired to stud in 1984 with more than $2 million in earnings. ‘Cam’ was voted 1982 and 1983 Harness Horse of the Year after winning the Cane Pace, Messenger Pace, Prix D'Ete, Provincial Cup, Canadian Pacing Derby and the United States Pacing Championships. His stud career was exceptionally successful. Among his offspring are Presidential Ball, Cams Card Shark, Precious Bunny, Camtastic and Goalie Jeff – all winners of more than $2 million.

In recognition of Clements' donation, the Can-Am's restaurant will be called the Cam Fella Bar and Grill.

James, who founded the popular SSG Gloves brand 25 years ago, regularly donates to equine organizations including CARD, Equimania and the Ontario Equestrian Federation, as well as many other equine events. This year, James is sponsoring the brand new ‘SSG Extravaganza’ evening which will feature trainer Guy Mclean, along with HorsePower Live and Amber Marshall of Heartland.

"The Can-Am Equine Expo is a wonderful exhibition of the horse industry from all disciplines," said James. "There is something for everyone and it brings horse people together."

The Can-Am organizers are grateful to Clements and James for their generous sponsorship and support of this grassroots event. Can-Am will take place April 3-5, 2015 at the Markham Fairgrounds in Markham, Ontario. For more information on the Can-Am, visit canamequine.com.
