Ladies Night At Dover, Pierce Wins Three

The spotlight was on the distaffs at Dover Downs on a rainy Tuesday night over a "sloppy" track

Boots Place, piloted by Eric Goodell took the lead from favorite Gabrielles Girl (Corey Callahan) on the backstretch then outlegged Chloes Silver Star and Ron Pierce to the wire by a long neck to win the week's top distaff event with a 1:54.4 effort. A five year-old daughter of Park Place-Put The Boots, it was the second win of the year for the owner Bernard Segebade and second win on the card for driver Goodell. Alice's Restaurant handled by Tony Morgan was the third place mare.

Keystone Rhythm chalked up her second win of the year as Ross Wolfenden guided the Camotion-Run With The Tiger six-year-old home in 1:55.2 to win the $24,000 Mares Jr. Open pace. Russ and Elaine MacKinnon owned Keystone Rhythm, a winner of two of her last three starts. Delightful Diva, reined by Tony Morgan, led early in the race and held on for second. Alpine Gold N and Tim Curtin were the show finishers.

Ron Pierce took Baron Racing Stable's Honorary Hanover to the outside heading to the half mile and shook off a quick challenge from Remastered (Daryl Bier) and Change Maker (George Dennis) on the backstretch before pulling away to a 1:57.4 score in the $18,500 Mares pace. It was the first local start for the Josh Green-trained Western Ideal-Holding Court four-year-old. Miami Diva N (Jim Morand) saw a four-race win streak come to an end finishing second. Infinite Desire (Sean Bier) was third.

In the $17,000 Mares pace, Boca Hanover and Frank Milby left fast to get the lead then sat second as Shes Everything (Montrell Teague) took over in front of the grandstand until turning for home. Boca Hanover just got up in the last step for a 1:56.1 victory. The win for The Panderosa-Bikini Hanover eight-year-old owned by Irwin Samelman was her second of the year in seven starts. She has now banked $25,885 in 2010. Sherri On Ice (Vince Copeland) finished third.

Three Point Acres' Stiletto gave Ron Pierce his second win as the 10-year-old Mr Vic-Armbro Natural gelding turned back seven rivals with a 1:58.1 performance to win the $14,000 feature trot. Jobo Dashabra (Corey Callahan), the early leader, finshed second in front of Letmetellusumthin (Eddie Davis Jr.).

In addition to three wins for Ron Pierce, Eric Goodell, Frank Milby and Eric Goodell each won two.
