Sweet N Speedy delivered a performance befitting her name in the featured $15,068 conditioned pace for fillies and mares as racing returned to kick off the 2026 meet at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Thursday, Feb. 12

Driver Travis Seekman was undeterred by the outside post seven and sent the mare marching to the front early in her seasonal bow. Sweet N Speedy assumed command at the entry to the first turn and was unchallenged through fractions of :28.2, :59.1, and 1:28.2, and she kicked home with a :27.2 final panel to win by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:55.4. Searchinformysoul (Wyatt Avenatti) closed to take second over Sandy Mitternacht (Jordan Ross).

Sweet N Speedy, an Indiana fair standout at two and three, is 17-for-30 lifetime. Joe Seekman trains the four-year-old daughter of Odds On Equuleus-Ghost Like for Larry Bond. The win price was $4.80.

The track’s all-time leading driver and winner of the last 12 driving titles, Trace Tetrick, led the way on opening day with a trio of driving victories on the 14-race program. The first two wins of the meet for Tetrick came driving for his brother, Tom T. Tetrick, in back-to-back races in the middle of the card. Dejoma ($5) proved tough on the front end in a $13,699 conditioned trot in a career-best 1:57.4, outduelling a live upset threat in 36-1 shot Lous Transportor (Marcus Miller), who came up a quarter-length short. The brothers Tetrick came right back in the following race, using front-end tactics with Ilike Whiskers ($3.20), who dominated by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3 over Artistic Photo (John De Long).

Tetrick tacked on his third winner on the evening with the Charlie Stewart-trained Chedda Chedda ($5.60), who went first-over en route to a 1:54 victory by three parts of a length over a hard-charging Galleys Image (Patrizio Ancora). The win was one of two on the evening for the Stewart barn, having previously delivered the biggest upset on the program in the second race when Imalwaysclassy (John DeLong) rallied at 41-1 to win in 1:54.4 and light up the toteboard with an $84.80 win payoff. Stewart and Tom T. Tetrick led the trainers with their doubles.

Racing continues at Hoosier Park on Friday with a nine-race program that begins at 5:30 p.m. The Friday-night card features a $10,000 guarantee in the ninth-race Late Hoosier High 5 done in partnership with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program. Live racing will be followed by an Aaron Lewis concert in the Terrace Showroom, beginning at 9 p.m.

Hoosier Park continues on a Thursday-and-Friday racing schedule through March before adding Wednesdays to the weekly schedule beginning in April. First post is 5:30 p.m. nightly. More information on the 2026 live racing season at Hoosier Park can be found at www.harrahshoosierpark.com.
