As the second longest shot on the board, The Great Reset posted the great upset in the $11,000 Preferred Trot on Tuesday (Feb. 13) evening at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
Treasured Tee (Travis Henry) designated himself the pacesetter for the mile while The Great Reset, with his trainer Lorne House in tow, got away fourth through the :27.3 opening panel. House pulled his student to the outside first over en route to the half in :58.1. The pair found a place in the pocket at the three-quarters in 1:28.1 and faced a challenge against the leading Treasured Tee in the stretch. Down to the wire, The Great Reset used a :31 last panel to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.2 over Treasured Tee. Bucktober (Tyler Borth) completed the triactor.
Owned by House and Chantal Ruijs, The Great Reset (Resolve-Dont Talk Back) is a four-year-old chestnut gelding and winner of three races from five starts this season. In his career, The Great Reset has had 45 starts with nine trips to the winner's circle and $115,785 earned. Off at 8-1 odds, he returned $17.50 to win.
