Northlands Park race secretary Al Bott has commented on the horse population to this point in the meet
at the Edmonton, AB oval.
"We started this meet with about 250 horses," Bott was quoted as saying in an Alberta Sun article. "With the normal run of injuries and stuff like that, we got down to 200, maybe 225."
The article states that this week veteran horseman Rene Goulet pulled his stock out, but that familiar horses the likes of Timberline Court, Barossa and Double L Trump are ready to make their return.

The biggest problem with
The biggest problem with horse supply at Northlands Park centers around illness. Many have a virus or strangles. Out of 14 race horses, I had 4 that were not sick. Our supply is not what it was, but that is one of the biggest problems.
