A victory with pacer Quinnman in Wednesday’s eleventh race at The Raceway at the Western Fair District turned out to be a memorable one for trainer Garth Gordon, who became the newest member of harness racing’s 1,000-win club.
Gordon watched Jason Brewer go first-over with the son of Artiscape, and the public’s second choice in the wagering drew clear to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3 giving the veteran trainer the milestone win.
Gordon has trained a number of top performers over the years including the likes of Banker Fretz (1:56 - $563,007) and Soft Light (1:52.3 - $691,220) just to name a few. Gordon has racked up more than $12 million in lifetime earnings as a trainer.
