There's no mailbox adjacent to the winner's circle at Rideau Carleton Raceway with their names on it, but Guy Gagnon and Mandy Archer certainly seem to make themselves at home in that space.
The card of harness racing on Thursday at Rideau Carleton featured 10 dashes, with meet leading driver Guy Gagnon guiding five to victory — three of those for the track's leading trainer, Mandy Archer.
Archer sent out four horses on Thursday night, with horses in three different races. She won every race she entered, thanks to the exploits of Meadowbranch Noble (1:55.4; $2.50) in the third race, a streaking D A Magic Mike (1:54.1; $2.10) in the fourth dash — now a winner of five straight — and Dinner Party (1:54.2; $4.70, pictured above) in the finale where the win margin was just a head over stablemate Beef N Cheddar.
All three of Archer's tallies came courtesy the hands of Guy Gagnon, who also guided Beach Journey (1:56.1; $3.40) and Ciel Bleu (1:57.2; $4) to victory from his own stable.
Gagnon's 153 driving wins at Rideau this year are much the best, with Archer sporting a 94-83 lead over Gagnon on the training side.
