Favoured sophomore fillies Credit Card Junkie and Phone Terror delivered winning performances in their respective $12,500 Northlands Filly Pace eliminations on a snowy -14 degree Friday night at Northlands Park.
Trainer-driver Keith Clark worked out a perfect two-hole trip aboard his star three-year-old pacing filly Credit Card Junkie to win the first elimination.
Inside starter Outlaw Blue Danube (Deborah McLeod) established the lead over the Alberta Super Final champion with the rest of the five-horse field lined up in post position order. Outlaw Blue Danube strolled through fractions of :29.4, 1:02.1 and 1:32.3 before Credit Card Junkie pulled the pocket and kicked home to win by one length in 2:01.1. Popcorn (Jamie Gray) edged out early trailer Honor Roll (Brandon Campbell) in a photo for second while Outlaw Blue Danube earned the final spot in next week's $75,000 final with a fourth-place finish.
Elimination #1 - Race 4
The homebred Camystic-Best Promise filly has put together a solid record reading 12-11-1 in 25 starts during her debut season while banking $161,531. She is owned by her Hall of Fame trainer, along with Doris McDougall of Cochrane, Alta. and Calgary's Verne Rea.
Credit Card Junkie paid $3.10 to win as the 1-2 favourite.

Phone Terror wired a field of six fillies in the second elimination.
Leaving from post two, Phone Terror surged to command and carved out fractions of :29.3, 1:00.1, and 1:29.3 en route to a 1:57.4 score by one and three-quarter lengths. Second choice Blue Star Beauty (Bill Tainsh Jr.) followed from the pocket to place while Prairie Illusion (Keith Clark) advanced first over from last to show. Cool One (Don Monkman Jr.) finished fourth and will also advance to the final.
Elimination #2 - Race 8
The Western Terror-Miss Lex filly is owned by Melissa and Claudine Masse of Edmonton, Ont. She has put together a record of 10-2-2 in 18 seasonal starts while banking $90,715.
Sent postward as the 1-5 favourite, Phone Terror paid $2.70 to win.
Eliminations for the companion colt event, the Western Canada Pacing Derby, will take place on
Saturday at Northlands.
