Philip Doyle's undefeated three-year-old pacing filly Drunk And Dramatic returned to work on Friday night following a three-month hiatus and picked up where she left off, winning her seventh in a row at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Drunk And Dramatic, who started her career with a six-race win streak through June and July at Rideau, won the 11th race for fillies and mares that are non-winners of $15,000 or one race lifetime in 1:59.1 over the track rated 'good'.
With Simon Allard in the sulky, Drunk And Dramatic settled away third from post seven in the nine-horse field while favourite Couleur Magnifique set up shop on the front end after leaving from post four and carved out fractions of :28.3, :59.1, and 1:29.1. Allard angled his perfect filly off the pylons around the final turn and she rushed by the leaders to prevail by one and a half lengths. Miss Dollar Mam and Weekend Love finished second and third over Couleur Magnifique.
The lion's share of the $6,700 purse pushed Drunk And Dramatic's bankroll to $22,250.
Allard also facilitated the continuation of another win streak when he guided Noartographsplease, trained and co-owned by his brother Rene and Shakoors Racing Stable L, first over to a 1:56.3 score in the ninth race. The victory was the five-year-old Artisian mare's fifth in a row.
