On Monday (November 27), four Down Under Standardbred horsepeople pled not guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to multiple charges, including conduct that corrupts a betting outcome.

According to an article by Shepparton News separate lawyers are representing drivers Nathan Jack, Amanda Turnbull, Mark Pitt and Lisa Bartley in the matter.

The charges stem from the running of Race 4 at Cobram on June 22, 2015, the Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Integrity Department commenced an investigation into the training arrangements surrounding the winning horse Airbournemagic, the tactics adopted during the running of the race and the associated betting on the race.

The drivers involved were charged in January of this year and were suspended just after.

Months earlier, Jack had pled guilty and was suspended in regard to a racing integrity case that also saw a leading owner fined and suspended.
