Sophomore fillies flooded the Saturday (Nov. 21) card at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a total of six $17,000 divisions for the Harvest Series—three for pacers and three for trotters.

Rose Run Victory put forth the most dominant performance of the preliminary sextet, scoring an open-length win in 1:53. Though away sixth to a :27.4 opening quarter, the daughter of Shadow Play pulled off the pylons past a :57 half and rushed to the lead nearing three-quarters in 1:25.3. From there the Ashleigh Hensley trainee scooted clear, hitting the finish eight-and-a-quarter lengths in front of Robomotion Bluechip rallying for second. No Where To Hide settled for third.

Owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi and Phillip Collura, Rose Run Victory won her fourth race from 29 starts, earning $85,951. Ed Hensley steered the $2.30 winner.

Lyons Tilt Hanover lunged to the lead off the final turn and powered to a 1:52.4 win in her Harvest Series division. The Anthony Beaton-trained filly by Bettors Delight sat fourth to a :27.4 first quarter before driver J Harris pulled his charge first over through a :56.3 half. Into the final turn Lyons Tilt Hanover began to roll, drawing to equal terms with pacesetter Smile By The Beach by three-quarters in 1:24.3. Straightening for the finish, Lyons Tilt Hanover hurried away, opening three lengths as Kit closed for second with Ruby On Rails rallying for third.

Owned by Threelyonsracing, Lyons Tilt Hanover won her third race from 15 starts this season and her fifth from 25 overall, earning $90,370. She paid $2.70 to win.

Big Myrtle motored first over into the final turn to take the final pacing division of the Harvest Series with a 1:53.4 effort. Away fourth to a :27.3 first quarter, the daughter of Big Jim stayed put through a :56.3 half before being sent after the leader by driver Louis-Philippe Roy. The Chantal Mitchell trainee rolled alongside pacesetter Golden Leader by three-quarters in 1:25.4 and slid to the lead into the stretch. Classlylaneprecious gave chase to take second, two-and-a-half lengths behind, with pocket-sitter Halssglensmavis settling for third.

Co-owned by Mitchell with Douglas Millard, Big Myrtle won her third race from 11 starts, earning $40,200. She paid $6.30 to win.

Scorched Romance scored a wire-to-wire victory in the opening division of the Harvest Series for trotting fillies. Driver Louis-Philippe Roy landed the Kadabra filly on the front and opened a four-and-three-quarter length advantage of a :28 opening quarter. The Meg Crone trainee continued on a loose lead as 1-5 favourite Intense Justice jumped into a gallop heading to a :58.3 half. Scorched Romance continued uncontested to three-quarters in 1:28.1 in progress to a four-length victory in 1:57. Bra In The Wind finished second with Oh Lina taking third.

Owned by W. J. Donovan, Scorched Romance won her first race from 11 starts this season and her fourth from 22 overall, earning $92,214. She paid $11.00 to win.

Via disqualification, Sheer Energy toured the winner’s circle after the second Harvest Series Trot for the team of Crone and Roy. By a :28.2 opening quarter, Roy circled Sheer Energy to the point and led through a :57.2 half and to three-quarters in 1:26.3 before succumbing to pocket-popper Sheswildnfree, who veered out and caused Magic Wanda to break stride into the stretch. Following an inquiry, Sheer Energy was placed first with Jula Shes Magic taking second, Rockadero third and Stonebridge Sydney fourth.

Also owned by W. J. Donovan, Sheer Energy won her second race from 13 starts this season and her fourth from 22 overall, earning $112,595. The Muscle Mass filly paid $8.70 to win.

LMC Bumble Bee proved best in the final trotting division with a 1:57.1 victory over pocket-sitter Letstaketothesky. The Muscle Mass filly took control to a :29 first quarter and faced no challenge to a :59.4 half. Letstaketothesky pulled pocket off three-quarters in 1:28.4 but gave futile pursuit as LMC Bumble Bee hit the finish three-quarter lengths better with Ella finishing third, another nine lengths behind.

Trained by Nick Gallucci for owners Loredana and Frank Cirillo, LMC Bumble Bee won her fifth race from 11 starts, earning $130,475. James MacDonald drove the $2.30 winner. The win was the third of three on the card for trainer Gallucci, who also sent winners Fancourt ($14.30) and Hidden Delight ($7.20).
