It was another busy night of bidding in Kentucky as the fourth night of this year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale took place at the Fasig Tipton Sales Pavilion, and Per Henriksen signed the slip on the highest-priced yearling in Thursday’s session.
Tymal Reign, who sold as Hip 541, was acquired by Henriksen for $80,000. The O’Brien Award-winning trainer clearly liked what he saw from the daughter of Kadabra-J M Aggie. She’s a half-sister to Tymal Howboutnow (1:56.4 - $20,200).
Shes A Bronxbomber, a regally-bred daughter of Chapter Seven-Housethatruthbuilt, went to Janice Conner – agent for Arden Homestead Stable of Goshen, NY - for $67,000. The filly, who sold as Hip 502, is a half-sister to Real Babe (1:52.2 - $383,908), House On Fire (1:54.1 - $182,056) and Murderers Row (1:55 - $148,656).
Fulfillyourpurpose, who sold as Hip 530, went to Mark Steacy of Lansdowne, ON for $65,000. The Big Jim-Ty Chi Hanover colt is the three-quarter brother to P Note Blue Chip (1:51.1 - $316,395).
A total of 142 yearlings went through the sales ring during the fourth session for combined sales of $3,030,000 and an average price of $21,338
A total of 134 yearlings sold during last year's fourth session of the auction for totals sales of $2,742,000. Last season's fourth-day average was $20,463.
This year’s sale has racked up $27,573,000 in total sales for an average price of $50.042 compared to last year’s total sales of $28,520,000 for an average price of $44,080.
The final session of the sale goes on Friday night at 7 p.m. featuring Hips 603 - 701.
