Two-year-old pacing fillies returned to Windsor Raceway on Wednesday evening to face off in the fourth $130,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold final. With Mark MacDonald in

tow, elimination winner Western Silk made a striking move before the half, which landed her another Gold Series trophy.

Fbs Terror (Scott Zeron) fired off the gate from the inside post position and led the field to the opening quarter in :27.1 but as the field passed in front of the grandstand the lead changed hands. Mark MacDonald launched Western Silk from the five-hole and the Western Terror-Extenporaneous filly roared to the lead and opened up two lengths on the field before flashing panels of :54.4 and 1:22.4. The fan favourite then coasted home for the one and a half length victory equaling her lifetime mark of 1:53.1. The time of the mile was just one-fifth of a second off Canadette's track record for freshmen pacing fillies.

Fbs Terror stayed for second while 48-1 Misty Moonstone (Peter Core) finished third.

Trainer Casie Coleman shares ownership of the winner with Tom Hill of Lancashire, Great Britain. Western Silk, who won the OSS Gold final on September 24 at Flamboro Downs, now sports a record reading 5-1-2 in 10 outings. The $50,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase has earned $221,932 so far in her flourishing career.

Eliminations for the fifth and final OSS Gold event of the season for two-year-old pacing fillies will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Woodbine Racetrack with the final set for the following November 7.

Western Silk has already secured a berth in the OSS Super Final on November 14 with her point tally and is also eligible to the Breeders Crown at Woodbine (eliminations on October 16 and the final on October 24).
