Dontpokethedragon won the $11,000 Preferred Pace for horses and geldings on Wednesday (Oct. 4) evening at Flamboro Downs.
Travis Cullen and the Jodie Cullen trainee left early from the rail to take the lead in :26.2 before Tyler Moore and Lawless Shadow took command. Lawless Shadow handed out two more panels in :54.2 and 1:22.4 as Dontpokethedragon followed in the pocket. The pair met on even terms in the stretch and Dontpokethedragon went by to win by a half-length in 1:52.1. Lawless Shadow had to settle for second and Rock And Twist (Austin Sorrie) was third.
Paul Sanders, J J J Stables and Travis Cullen co-own the six-year-old Custard The Dragon gelding. He earned his fifth seasonal win and 31st career victory. Dontpokethedragon has earned $64,290 this year of his $310,990 career earnings. He paid $8.90 to win as the 3-1 second choice.
