
The five-day 2025 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale concluded on the evening of Friday, Oct. 3 at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky, with the final session topped by Elixir.
Selling as Hip 913, Elixir induced bidders to a day-five high of $250,000 ($180,000 USD). Consigned by Hunterton Sales Agency, the Downbytheseaside colt was purchased by Summit Bloodstock, acting as agent for Jeff Berger of St. Petersburg, Florida. Elixir is the third foal out of the Grand Circuit stakes-winning mare Yankee Moonshine ($672,501 - 1:51.2f). The colt's dam is a full sibling to Pennsylvania Sire Stakes champion Yankee Bounty ($855,780 - 1:49.3f) and a half sister to Grand Circuit stakes winner Binge On Yankee ($637,201 - 1:48.3).
Kissme Ifyoucan, Hip 894, was the second highest priced yearling of the fifth session, selling for $222,222 ($160,000 USD) to Greg Luther of Blacklick, Ohio. Consigned by Anvil And Lace Farm, the In Range-I Gotta Feelin filly is a half sibling to three six-figure earners, including Pennsylvania stakes winners That Ole Bar Stool ($414,145 - 1:52.4f) and Broadway Socks ($257,005 - 1:54.2f). This was the only yearling sired by In Range offered at the sale.
Route Fifty, Hip 874, brought the next highest bid of the day at $208,333 ($150,000 USD), purchased by Country Club Acres Inc. of Findlay, Ohio. Consigned by All American Harnessbreds, the Downbytheseaside colt is out of Lorrie Please, a multiple Mares Open winner with more than $500,000 in earnings. Route Fifty is a half brother to three six-figure earners, including New York stakes winner Easy To Please ($788,618 - 1:51.4h).
Three Downbytheseaside yearlings sold for $138,888 ($100,000 USD) to round out the top purchases of the day. Two were also purchased by Summit Bloodstock as agent for Berger, including colt Stateroom, Hip 899, and filly Priscilla Station, Hip 881.
Consigned by Alliance Bloodstock, Stateroom is the first foal out of Kilee Rocks, a half sister to Breeders Crown champion Boston Red Rocks ($1,486,357 - 1:48.2f) and Grand Circuit stakes winners McSeaside ($599,788 - 1:48.4) and McCrunch ($388,421 - 1:48.2).
Priscilla Station the second foal out of the Open pacing mare Pace Baby Pace, who earned $384,680 and has half a dozen six-figure earning siblings, including full brother Birthday ($758,166 - 1:47.4f) and half sister, O'Brien Award winner Pass Line ($959,405 - 1:49.3s). She was from the Spring Station Bloodstock consignment, along with the other yearling that sold for $138,888, Portofino Station.
Portofino Station, Hip 892, was purchased by William Hartt of Carmel, Maine. She is the second foal out of Please Take Over, who has eight siblings with six-figure bankrolls, including a Pennsylvania stakes-winning full brother E Z Noah ($856,073 - 1:49.2f) and Dismissal ($106,615 - 1:51f), the dam of double millionaire Bythemissal.
The fifth session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale featured 124 yearlings with gross sales totalling $5,561,111 ($4,004,000 USD) for an average price of $44,847 ($32,290 USD), down approximately 3.2 per cent from last year's day five average.
A total of 890 yearlings sold during the entire five-day sale for $84,570,833 ($60,891,000 USD), with an average price of $95,024 ($68,417 USD). The average was down 5.2 per cent compared to the 2024 sale.
Walner was once again the leading stallion for gross and average with more than one yearling sold, with 80 of his offspring selling for $14,576,389 ($10,495,000 USD) and an average price of $182,206 ($131,188 USD) over the course of the five sessions. For pacing stallions, Bulldog Hanover led for gross sales with 45 of his yearlings selling for $4,865,278 ($3,503,000 USD) while Downbytheseaside offspring has the highest average price with 34 selling for an average of $129,289 ($93,088 USD).

The opening session of the Lexington sale was held on Monday and the Walner-French Cafe filly Dejeuner garnered the most attention with a $1.38 million ($1 million USD) price tag to top day one. Selling as Hip 70, Dejeuner was purchased by Noel Daley, who served as agent for Winning Key of Chesterfield, New Jersey. Kentuckiana Farms consigned the half sister to 2024 Elegantimage Stakes winner French Champagne (1:51.4 - $739,033).
Attracting the highest bid of the second session on Tuesday, Jimdougie Armitage, a son of Captain Corey, went for $1.04 million ($750,000 USD) to Ake Svanstedt Inc. of Wrightstown, New Jersey. He is the first foal of Quick Bet, a full sister to Breeders Crown champion and Dan Patch Award recipient Winners Bet. The mare was a four-time winner on the track and took a mark of 1:56.1. The colt, Hip 182, was consigned by Armitage Farm LLC.
Shoreline Station topped the third session on Wednesday, purchased for $381,944 ($275,000 USD) on a winning bid from Linda Toscano of Freehold, New Jersey, acting as agent. The Sweet Lou colt, Hip 394 consigned by Spring Station Bloodstock, is the first foal out of Seaside Park, a daughter of stakes winner Cinamony and a Downbytheseaside half-sister to Cane Pace champion Captain Optimistic and stakes winner Odds On Cinnamon.
Ebb N Flow brought the highest bid during the fourth session on Thursday. Selling as Hip 727, Ebb N Flow went for $201,389 ($145,000 USD) to Sabine Kagebrant, acting as agent for Courant Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida. The Green Manalishi S filly, consigned by Kentuckiana Farms, is out of Hustle Heart, a daughter of Hambletonian Oaks champion Creamy Mimi and half-sister to millionaire French Wine. Ebb N Flow is a half-sister to stakes winner Fly Light ($528,591 - 1:52).
