Daughters of Camluck did their sire proud on Sunday at Rideau Carleton Raceway by winning two of the four $24,000 O.S.S. Grassroots divisions

for three-year-old pacers.

Holiday Shopper, a daughter of Camluck-Keystone Liaison, survived a first-over trip to take home top prize in her division for the tandem of driver Mario Baillargeon and trainer Duke Sugg. Sent off at odds of 22-1, the filly drew clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Warrawee Lil (Scott Zeron). Modern Beauty (Doug McNair) finished third.

Robert Hutchison of North Ridgeville and Randall Hutchison of Avon, OH share ownership on five-time winner, who was purchased for a mere $4,000 at the 2008 Harrisburg Yearling Sale. She has managed to bank in excess of $117,000 in her career.

Give The Gift entered her Sunday assignment 0-for-11 on the season, but she was allowed to sit behind a speed battle before swooping down on tired leaders en route to posting a 1:56.1 triumph for driver Sylvain Filion. The Bob McIntosh-trained daughter of Camluck-Eternal Gift poured it on late and drew clear to win by 3-1/2 lengths over Exotic Pleasure (Doug McNair). Third prize in the nine-filly affair went to Intrewishon (John MacDonald).

Owned by the Robert McIntosh Stables Inc of Windsor, ON and C S X Stables of Liberty Centre, OH, Give The Gift won for the fifth time in her career while pushing her lifetime earnings to $97,920.

Phenomenal Grace snapped a string of second-place finishes by triumphing in her division for the father and son duo of trainer Gregg McNair and driver Doug McNair. The Mach Three-Shore Am Pretty filly made a bold move at the three-quarter pole and accelerated away to win by 1-3/4 lengths in a sharp clocking of 1:54.3. All Chocolate (Scott Zeron) grabbed the runner-up award, and Wind Warning (Mario Baillargeon) took home the show dough.

The victory improved her 2010 record to 5-5-4 in 18 starts, and it bumped her overall bankroll to $85,924. The eight-time winner is owned by Judith Shelton and Charles Knox of Goderich, ON.

Miss Maverick was a wire-to-wire winner in her $24,000 assignment for driver John MacDonald and trainer Marie St. Charles. She laid down panels of :27.2, :56.1 and 1:25 before stepping home in :29.4 to win by a pair of lengths in 1:54.4. Lucky Jeans (Ted McDonald) sat a pocket trip behind every step of the way en route to her second-place finish, and Mach Dismissal (Aaron Byron) was third.

E C S Racing LLC of Rockford, MI holds the ownership papers on the daughter of Western Maverick-Sanfrancine. It was her sixth win of the season, and the lion’s share of the purse boosted her overall cash stash to $82,609.

This was the final Grassroots event of the regular season for the three-year-old pacing fillies. The top 16 point earners will now head to the playoffs – or in this case the O.S.S. Grassroots Semi-Finals – at Western Fair Raceway on October 16. The Grassroots Finals will then go postward at that oval on October 23.
