LA Times Runs MLB Story On Announcer

It is not every day when a North American harness racing personality gets some national media attention due to a dispute between millionaire baseball players.

Adrian Gonzalez and his Los Angeles Dodgers had caught flak by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainright during the recently concluded National League Championship Series. The Cardinals won the series with a resounding 9-0 victory this past Friday.

Earlier in the series, Wainright characterized some of the Dodgers’ antics as being ‘Mickey Mouse.’ A few days later, in response, Gonzalez made a gesture indicating he had Mickey Mouse ears on his head after hitting a home run.

A report by the Los Angeles Times has explained that Gabe Prewitt, a longtime member of the harness racing industry that was recently announced as the new race caller at Pompano Park in Florida, made a five-hour trek to Busch Stadium in St. Louis to take in Game 6.

Looking to stoke the fire, the die-hard Dodger fan showed up at batting practice with a stuffed Mickey Mouse head atop his noggin.

The report has quoted Prewitt as saying, "Adam Wainwright sent me shopping."
