Driver Marc Campbell stole the show at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon (October 16) with a six-win performance that included a pair of victories in the Maritime Breeders Stakes eliminations.

Campbell won the first four races of the 14-race program before capturing two of four stakes eliminations for the two-year-olds.

Campbell and trainer Henry Smallwood teamed up to win Saturday's first three races with Charlottes Western ($6.50), Djs Kocakolacowboy ($5.70) and Pride Of Paradise ($11.40). The reinsman's fourth win was courtesy of the Nick Macgillivray-trained Four Brass Starz ($3.80).

Campbell's own trainee Elektra Express ($2.90) later took the first $5,000 filly elimination as she fought off Woodmere Dreams (Gilles Barrieau) to win by one and three-quarter lengths in 1:59.1. The homebred Western Paradise-Expressly Hanover filly is owned by Danica Ellis of Brookfield, N.S. Elm Grove Luck (Clare MacDonald) finished third.

Campbell also guided Nameisonthehalter ($5.70) to a 1:59 victory in the colt eliminations for owner/trainer Lawrence Snow of Glace Bay, N.S. The Brandons Cowboy-Keltic Sarah gelding only had the breaker beat early on, but followed cover and then rallied home to defeat pacesetter Jigtime Jones (Rinaldo MacDonald) by three-quarters of a length. Woodmere Soul (Gilles Barrieau) followed two lengths behind in third.

Driven by Corey MacPherson, the Dooley Boys Racing Stable's Kinda Like Her ($12.40) prevailed off a pocket trip in the other filly elimination. The Ameripan Gigolo-Allamerican Napa filly overtook the front-striding favourite Filly Forty Seven and Campbell to win by a length and a half in 1:59.2. Woodmere Finesse (Kenny Arsenault) held for third despite a break at the wire.

Mark Bradley and Complete Player ($6) went wire-to-wire to win the other colt elimination in 1:57.4 by three-quarters of a length, with the favoured Tobinator and MacPherson coming on for second. Tom Weatherbie trains the Brandons Cowboy-Suddenly Susan colt for owner David Kennedy of Charlottetown. Mighty Cowboy (Darren Crowe) recovered from an early break in stride and came on for third.
