Four $20,000 divisions of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) two-year-old trotting races were held at Harrington Raceway Sunday

.

A 90-1 longshot won the first filly division as Winbak Farm’s Great Quantity ($184, Jeff Fout) was a first-over winner in 2:03.3. The CR Commando filly took advantage of breaks by the favourites and seized control approaching three-quarters over Da Boss Lady and Skuttlebutt. Great Quantity is also trained by her driver.

The first colt division was won by Shaun Callahan and Dawn Amiss’ Left Alone Ranger ($3, Corey Callahan). The Dukes Ranger gelding bided his time in the back before making his move toward three-quarters and clearing pacesetter Montchanin, who finished second. Manchester Boss was third. ‘Ranger’ earned his second career win in four lifetime starts for trainer Nick Callahan.

The second colt division was the fastest of all divisions as Nanticoke Racing and Ross Wolfenden’s Windshield ($3.40, Wolfenden) held off Spunky Jack for a 2:01.2 victory to complete a sweep of his eliminations. Klondike Mike was third. Windshield, a son of Political Briefing, is trained by Les Givens.

Givens and Wolfenden notched another win in the second filly division with Nanticoke Racing and Delbert Cain’s Alleigh Girl ($2.40), who also swept her eliminations after a 2:02.3 victory over La Vita Loca Rusty and Jodi Lin. A daughter of Don Boss Vita, Alleigh Girl has won four of six lifetime starts.

October 24 will feature four $100,000 finals for all divisions as part of a showcase night of Delaware’s top bred horses.
