Woodward Wins September Zoom

Congratulations to Jacie Woodward of Peterborough, Ont., who is the winner of the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s September Zoom Photography Challenge featuring the ‘Meet My Horse’ theme!

Her winning photo is of Magnify Bliss aka ‘Wheels’, getting some love from her nine-year-old brother Joshua, in the paddock at Kawartha Downs.

“Joshua has fallen in love with my horse due to the fact that he [Magnify Bliss] is a major suck and will do anything for anyone’s love,” explained Jacie. “I had to take about 40 pictures until I caught one at the right moment. I think you can definitely feel the love in this one.”

For the past six years ‘Wheels’ has become a part of the family and Jacie refers to him as her best friend. “Wheels, aka Magnify Bliss, is my six-year-old standardbred that has been a part of my family for five years now. The first time we went to look at him was when he was just four months old and he wouldn’t leave me alone in the field, so it was definitely a sign,” said Jacie. “He’s not the fastest or the best, but he always puts everything he has into every race. He just recently won his first race in July at Kawartha Downs.”

Jacie is part owner of Wheels and keeps busy helping her dad (Jason Woodward) with his eight Standardbreds. “Whether it’s a school night or we’re traveling far away, I’m always going to the tracks to help out with the horses. I definitely hate missing when one of my horses are racing, it’s one of my favourite things in life.”

Jacie has won a $50 Fan Club prize package. Congrats! And thank you to our other finalists:

Photo 1: Annie Cox of Odessa, Ont., for the photo of herself and her two-year-old trotter Stormont Onetime, AKA ‘Stormy’ training on the treadmill.
