Sophomore pacers took center stage at Fraser Downs on Saturday night in a pair of $25,000 BC Sales Stakes Finals with the trophies going to Nobody Can and streaker Mystic Maiden

Ed Hensley trainees Nobody Can and Dontmakemebeg finished one-two in the BC Sales Stakes Final for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
Elimination winner Nobody Can and driver Jim Marino followed his stablemate Dontmakemebeg and trainer Ed Hensley through fractions of :28, :57 and 1:25.3 before pulling the pocket in the stretch and sticking his neck out in front for the 1:55.2 score over a sloppy track. Spartan Law (Scott Knight) finished five lengths behind in third.
Nobody Can paid $9.10 to win as the 7-2 second choice. The homebred son of Kents On Nuke-Battalia Hanover, who has won four times in 10 starts this year, is owned by J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C. and Alan Anderson of Willows, California. He has earned $72,395 of his $121,201 bankroll this year.
The win was one of three on the 11-race card for the Hensley stable.
The Justin Currie-trained Mystic Maiden extended her win streak to nine and earned a new speed badge in the $25,000 BC Sales Stakes Final for sophomore pacing fillies.
Sent postward as the 1-2 favourite, Mystic Maiden and driver David Hudon carved out fractions of :26.4, :56.1 and 1:24.1 en route to an eye-catching eight and a quarter length victory in 1:53.4. Margarets Spirit (Keith Clark) and Red Star Stella (Tim Brown) rounded out the top three.
Mystic Maiden paid $3.10 to win. The daughter of Camystic-Artfromtheheart is now 11-for-12 in 2010 with $43,150 earned for owners Barry MacFarlane of Powell River and Crimson Racing Stable of Langley, B.C. She has won all but one of her 17 career starts for total earnings of $66,250.
