Rollins: Up And Running By Spring 2011

According to a report, Belleville Agricultural Society president Doug Rollins has commented on the latest announcement by Baymount Inc., which introduced Macallan Equity Inc. as the most recent company which has reached an

agreement to provide financing for the company's subsidiary, Belleville Racetrack Development Corporation (BRDC).

Over the past months, Rollins has clearly voiced his opinion in the media, and has been quite straight forward regarding the Baymount/Quinte situation.

He had taken the staunch stance that the project must move forward, but had conveyed enthusiasm on the news that Plaza Gaming Inc. was on board as a financier for the project.

The Plaza deal has since fallen through, but Macallan Equity is now in the picture.

In an article today by The Belleville Intelligencer, Rollins was quoted as saying: "If they (Macallan) fulfill what they say they're going to do then I think we're back on page one again and it should get started."

He also offered a pair of seemingly certain statements; the first being: "If these people aren't going through we've got other people that will."

Rollins also gave a firm statement regarding a date in which races will be up and running and VLTs operational.

"I'm saying next spring (2011) there'll be a place in Belleville to put your money in the slot machine and watch the ponies run," he said.

Think we've heard this tune before. His last firm statement was "there will be shovels in the ground by September" now its " next spring (2011)there will be a place to put your money in the slot machines and a place to watch the horses run" Rings pretty hollow given a lack of track history. The Belleville horse just won't race with the current driver and trainer. Think everyone should get used to going to Kawartha, Mohawk and Rideau.

If you could drop the word Baymount from any announcement it (might) be believable.
