USTA District 5 held its annual meeting on Saturday (January 20) at Poe's Catering Facility.
The annual meeting was preceded by two appeal hearings of county fair judge's appeals.
The meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. by chair Sam Lilly with directors Jim Reynolds and Dr. Ken Walker in attendance.
Director Reynolds conducted the discussion of the rule changes and chair Lilly tabulated the results.
At the conclusion of the rules discussion, the directors discussed various questions regarding the USTA activities and heard reports from the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Bureau of County Fairs and Horse Racing and from the Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association. The meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
