The Lindsay Agricultural Society is recruiting demonstrations and vendors to top up the list of performances for its first annual All About Horses event on June 6 and 7, 2009.

This event, to be held at the Lindsay Fairgrounds, will feature internationally-acclaimed equine educator Randy Bird, premier trainer of riding and driving horses. He has trained horses for coaching, combined driving, racing, and for many clients who want a safe equine companion. Graduates of his training program have competed throughout North America and even at the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show in England.

“Every show we do, we find exciting,” said Bird. “We are both honoured and pleased that you have chosen us, and we’ll do our best to give the folks an exciting and informative time at each of our performances. We are starting our preparations now and we look forward to seeing you in June.”

The All About Horses event will encompass a variety of heavy- and light-horse demonstrations and exhibits, including breed displays, riding and driving presentations, seminars on equine nutrition, health, care, management, and training. An equine-related trade show will help to promote the local equine industry and stars.

Bird said, “After touring your fabulous new facility, I can’t help but think that the weekend will be a great success!”

The goal of the All About Horses event is to entertain, educate, and inspire in a celebration of the horse and of the equestrians in and around the Lindsay area. All of the proceeds from the event will help support the Lindsay Agricultural Society, a not-for-profit organization committed to encouraging an awareness of agriculture and promoting improvements in the quality of life of persons living in the agricultural community and beyond.

Interested exhibitors, participants, and vendors should contact Cecelia McMorrow at the Lindsay Agricultural Society, 705-324-5551, [email protected].
