Moira Fanning didn’t come from a horse racing background, but she was introduced to Standardbreds in her teens and she fell for them hard. After a decade as a caretaker, and jobs at a few racetracks, Moira eventually found her true calling working for The Hambletonian Society. A huge part of the Breeders Crown program for decades, Crown #42 - held recently at Mohawk Park - is the last one Moira will work at. It’s time for her well-deserved retirement, and the industry is lucky to have had her. By John Rallis.
