This Saturday, the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society will be participating in the annual Hoof Beat Challenge at Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Centre in Puslinch, Ont.
All funds raised will benefit Sunrise, a nationally accredited therapeutic riding centre in operation for more than 30 years. They provide recreation and therapy programs for people of all ages with special needs.
Reverend Hanover, the former top pacer who joined OSAS last week, will make his trail debut on Saturday. He’ll be guided by the capable Joanne Colville, OSAS’s administrator and events co-ordinator. Also riding for OSAS will be Debi O’Brien-Moran aboard Calamar and Emma Christoforou on Hiltons Hot Stuff.
In addition to the horses, people walking their dogs or just wishing to hike are encouraged to take part. Registration starts at 9 a.m. For more information, or to donate, please visit http://sunrise-therapeutic.ca/hoofbeat/.
