Freshmen trotting colts and pacing fillies will take the stage for Day 2 of the Red Mile Grand Circuit as part of a 12-race extravaganza on Friday evening.
The trotting colts split into four nine-horse divisions, each for a purse of $101,000. The first of the four has been carded as Race 2 and is perhaps the most competitive with KYSS champ Mystical Dew, American National winner Longwell, PASS runner up Major Athens and the streaking Pine Credit making for a very interesting start to the night's races.
NYSS final winner Fashion Blizzard is listed to go in Race 5 where he'll find solid competition in Wellwood Memorial elimination winner My Man Can and recent Kindergarten leg winner Jacks To Open.
The pacing fillies have been split into three nine-horse fields, each of which will be racing for $108,700 in purses. The action will kick off in Race 3, which will feature the recent world record setting I Luv The Nitelife squaring off with her rival from north of the border, Parlee Beach, and the good PA filly Donna Lee.
The second division is Race 6, which will kick off a Pick 4 guaranteed at a minimum of $10,000. NJSS final winner Authorize and Kentuckiana Farms division winner Carols Desire will head up an evenly-matched field of nine.
In the eleventh race, Nikki Beach comes in off a win in the Kentuckiana as well and just missed in the Sweetheart this summer. South Pacific is a filly that started late but has three wins in four starts in her brief career.
First-race post time Friday is 7:00 p.m.
