Harness racing fans can stop by the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame display at Hanover Raceway on Saturday, Sept. 4 or Clinton Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 5 to purchase a copy of Somebeachsomewhere: The Harness Racing Legend from a One-Horse Stable by Canadian author Marjorie Simmins.

As a special bonus, the first 20 copies purchased at each track will include the autograph of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame 2020 inductee Paul MacDonell, Somebeachsomewhere's driver throughout his career.

Described as a comprehensive, fully illustrated biography, award-winning author Marjorie Simmins' Somebeachsomewhere: The Harness Racing Legend from a One-Horse Stable, is a work of narrative-nonfiction that follows the life and career of the Ohio-born, Canadian-sired superstar pacer known as “Beach” who belonged to a syndicate of six owners from Canada’s East Coast. From a relatively humble lineage, Somebeachsomewhere turned out to be a horse of a lifetime; a world champion, multiple Hall of Famer, smashing records and setting a single-season earning record as a three-year-old. Many consider 'Beach,' who died unexpectedly in 2018, the greatest pacer and Standardbred sire of all time.

The purchase price for the books is $24.95 plus tax, (cash sales only please) with proceeds benefitting the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame.

The books are also available in the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame online gift shop.
