PA Sire Stakes Advisory

Horsepeople with quality Pennsylvania-sired two- and three-year-olds are advised that horses who were paid into the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes program can be entered for the upcoming sire stakes finals and consolation events without having started in the program this season.

Eligibility for the finals and consolations are determined by points earned during four preliminary legs of competition throughout the late spring and summer. Horses who did not race would of course have zero points earned, but if the minimum number of point-earning horses to fill the final and consolation in a given division is not reached, non-starters who would be entered could then draw in.

The Sire Stakes finals and consolations for three-year-olds will be held at The Meadows ‪on Saturday afternoon‬ (Sept. 7), while the events for two-year-olds will be held at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (Sept. 8).
