The stage is set for Canada’s marquee event for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings – the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup – following the post position draw and selection process which took place Monday at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Elim winners Tall Dark Stranger and Captain Kirk earned the right to select a spot on the inner half of the starting gate, with Tall Dark Stranger’s connections getting first choice in the selection process. They opted for Post 4.
The connections of Captain Kirk went next, and they opted for Post 3.
The other eight finalists went into an open draw process that was conducted by Hall of Fame driver, Steve Condren, and Mohawk Park’s Racing Secretary, Scott McKelvie.
Here’s how the field will line up behind the gate in Saturday’s rich final:

If you could bet on horses in The NAC based on their original 2020 Spring Book odds, you would be getting a steal by wagering on Allywag Hanover, who was 50-1, and is probably the 2nd best active 3yopc in North America.
