Brenda Hughes, former groom and longtime harness racing participant, wife of Ontario Racing Commission Judge Larry Hughes, passed away on Monday, August 22 at the Hanover & District Hospital in Hanover, Ont.

after a courageous, lifetime battle with diabetes. She was 51.

Brenda is the mother of Colin and Andrew, daughter of Inga and Ray Bolt, and sister of Brian, Gary and David.

Friends will be received at the Mighton Funeral Home, 123 Tenth Street, Hanover, on Thursday August 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 356 Ninth Street,
Hanover, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26.

Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. An online register book is available at mightonfuneralhome.ca.
