Atlantic Post Calls has announced funeral arrangements for prominent PEI standardbred breeder Phyllis Jean
MacLeod.
Phyllis is the wife of standardbred breeder D. Roderick 'Roddy' MacLeod. Phyllis passed away at home in Hartsville, PEI on Sunday, July 26 after having been diagnosed with cancer last fall. Besides her husband, she is survived by five children and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28 at Hartsville Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m.
The MacLeods operated a successful breeding farm near North Wilshire, developing many Maritime champions. Balance Of Trade, one of the Maritimes’ most successful trot stallions, stood at the farm for years. They also stood Sherwood Abe, a leading pacing sire.
